What do clinical standards mean to clinical safety people?
What do the clinical safety standards mean to us as clinical safety people? Which are applicable when and how do we navigate our way through them? This webinar included two presentations: one from Sean White, Senior Engineer at NHS Digital, and the second from Maggie Lay and Clive Tomsett, FCI Clinical Safety SIG members.

How do you do DTAC?
This Clinical Safety SIG meeting focuses on DTAC. It is chaired by Sebastian Alexander. Kelsey Flott, Deputy Director of Patient Safety, NHS X and Lauren Harkins, Assistant Director of Programmes, NHSX, explain the new Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC) guidance and how it works. This was followed by a presentation about the application of DTAC principles in practice by Damian Williams, Birmingham and Solihull CCG.

Clinical Safety Case Reports...More than the sum of its parts?
This was the third meeting of the Clinical Safety Special Interest Group (SIG). The webinar was run in collaboration with the NHS National Clinical Safety Officer Group.
The meeting was Chaired by Sebastian Alexander (Founding Fellow of the FCI, NHS Digital, Safety, SME Apps Programme), and presented by Clive Tomsett (Clinical Safety Officer, Director of Mable & Florence Ltd. Previous Safety Officer roles with Cerner, Accenture, BT, Fujitsu and NPSA) and Maggie Lay (FCI Council Member, Clinical Safety Officer & Clinical Informatics Lead at South Central and West CSU)
The aim of the meeting was a 'show and tell' using a real-world clinical safety use case for virtual consultation, to reflect on what could be improved, and to discuss the significance of a safety case to distil and communicate key mitigations and actions.

How to fix a national clinical safety issues...Starting the conversation
In this webinar, the panel discuss the problems individual clinicians face when reporting and fixing issues with clinical systems across the NHS. They also discuss ideas for how the processes can be improved. The panel was made up of:

Medical Device Regulations
This webinar was held in collaboration with the NHS National Clinical Safety Officer Group.
The meeting focused on Medical Devices, with an update on the recent Medical Device Regulations from guest speaker David Grainger (Technical Lead Software, AI and MRI from the MHRA). This was followed by a Q&A session with David and rounded out with a discussion on the next steps for the SIG.

Assessment of Apps and Pathology Standards
This two-part series was held to discuss key clinical safety issues in light of COVID-19.
The webinar was hosted by Sebastian Alexander (Founding Fellow of the FCI, NHS Digital, Safety, SME Apps Programme) and the first part featured presentations on the NHS Digital Apps and Wearables Programme and Kryptowire app assessment.
